Hodbarrow Lighthouse-Haverigg

The lighthouse stands on the sea wall that was built to protect Hodbarrow Mines from flooding. It was adopted by Haverigg Primary School as an opportunity for the children to explore their heritage and to represent a vision of future enlightenment.

Restored in 2003, the light is powered by solar energy and is recognised by Trinity House on current navigational charts.
